Due to recent revisions by the EPA of the lead and copper rule, we are required to perform an inventory of service line materials within our service area. Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District needs your help to gather information about the plumbing entering your home. Following the steps in this survey, please examine the water supply pipe between the meter and your home and identify the pipe material.

The Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District has begun a complete Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project throughout the entire district. AMI is a system of electronic water metering which records hourly meter readings and uploads them to cloud storage, where the information can be accessed by the district and the customer in real-time. Some of the benefits include increased leak detection and better control over your bill. The meter upgrade process will begin in the Town of Gaston and move into Roanoke Rapids. The project is expected to be complete in 2023 at which time we will launch the online customer portal.
